Abuja – The Federal Government has renewed its commitment to tackling insecurity across Nigeria, urging regional and international partners to strengthen collaboration in the fight against terrorism.
Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. George Akume, CON, made the announcement during a courtesy visit by the Charismatic Bishops Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) led by its President, Archbishop Prof. Leonard Bature Kawas.
Sen. Akume assured that the Tinubu-led administration is doing everything within its power to safeguard lives and property, emphasizing the need for international support to effectively combat terrorists operating in the country. He highlighted that ongoing partnerships with traditional rulers, political leaders, private sector stakeholders, and religious leaders are central to building a strong and secure Nigeria.
“But the government is seriously committed to eradicating insecurity... We need support from our allies to be able to fight terrorists in the land,” Akume said. He also noted that the public’s vote of confidence in the administration reflects approval of efforts to tackle insecurity and other national challenges.
Archbishop Kawas reiterated CBCN’s support for the government, pledging prayers for peace and unity across the country. “We are committed to praying for peace and unity to prevail in the country,” he said.
The visit underscores the administration’s strategy of combining government action with community and religious engagement to address insecurity and reinforce national stability.
