Nigerian singer Timi Dakolo has denied allegations that he owes UK-based entertainment promoter Revolve Entertainment and its representative, Otis Ayodele Kubeyinje, popularly known as Baddest DJ Timmy, £4,106 in expenses related to a proposed United Kingdom tour. Through his legal representatives, the singer described the claims as false and defamatory, warning that legal proceedings could be initiated in both Nigeria and the United Kingdom if the allegations are not withdrawn.

In a letter dated Saturday, July 18, 2026, and signed by Tope Salami of Whitestone Solicitors and Consultancy, Dakolo's lawyers said the disputed amount allegedly covered venue arrangements, graphic design, domain registration, website fees, video editing, visa deposits and consultation fees. However, the legal team maintained that the singer bears no contractual responsibility for those costs under the terms of the agreement signed by both parties.

According to the solicitors, the parties had entered into a written performance agreement for the proposed UK tour, which clearly assigned responsibility for venue booking, sound and lighting equipment, technical production, local logistics, visas, flights, accommodation and transportation to Revolve Entertainment as the promoter. They added that the agreement also stipulated that no deposit was payable to Dakolo and that only approved advertising and promotional expenses could be recovered from proceeds generated by the tour.

The legal team further stated that the planned tour failed to go ahead because the promoter allegedly did not meet key production requirements, particularly in relation to sound, lighting and technical standards required for Dakolo and his live band. They argued that the production arrangements fell below the professional level expected for the performances, making it impossible for the tour to proceed as scheduled.

Dakolo's lawyers also rejected any suggestion that the singer should reimburse expenses voluntarily incurred by the promoter. They insisted that such costs were either expressly allocated to the promoter under the agreement or incurred without the approvals required under the contract, leaving no legal basis for demanding repayment from the artiste.

Beyond the financial dispute, the legal representatives accused Baddest DJ Timmy and Revolve Entertainment of engaging in defamatory conduct through social media publications. The letter alleged that Dakolo had been falsely described using derogatory terms, while also accusing the promoter of cyberbullying, harassment, intimidation, blackmail and publishing private information relating to the singer and his family.

The solicitors demanded that all allegedly defamatory posts be removed immediately, a public retraction issued, and a written apology published within seven days on the same platforms where the allegations appeared. They warned that failure to comply could result in legal proceedings before courts and relevant authorities in both Nigeria and the United Kingdom.

The dispute followed earlier social media posts by Baddest DJ Timmy, who publicly accused Dakolo of failing to settle the alleged debt after the proposed UK tour did not take place. Those claims generated widespread reactions online before the singer responded through his legal team.
