
The House Committee on Federal Character, led by Rt. Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase, met with the management of the Federal College of Education (Technical), Gusau; Federal College of Education, Katsina; and Federal College of Education, Obudu to assess adherence to the principles of equity, fairness, and inclusivity.
The engagement is part of the Committee’s ongoing investigation into how federal institutions comply with the Federal Character Act, particularly regarding recruitment, representation, and equitable distribution of opportunities.
Rt. Hon. Wase reaffirmed the Committee’s commitment to upholding the Federal Character principle as a cornerstone of national unity, emphasizing that fairness in public institutions strengthens trust among Nigeria’s diverse groups. He assured that the Committee will continue to ensure that no region is marginalized in the allocation of resources and opportunities.
