Lagos Governor Hosts Graduation and Induction Ceremony at Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, presided over the graduation of the 2024/2025 cohort and the induction of the 2025/2026 cohort of the Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy (LJLA) during a ceremony held at Balmoral Hall, Ikeja, on Friday, August 29, 2025.

The event was attended by key state officials, including the Special Adviser to the Governor on Housing, Barr. Barakat Odunuga-Bakare; Commissioner for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Mrs. Bolaji Dada; Executive Secretary of LJLA, Mrs. Ayisat Agbaje-Okunade; and Secretary to the State Government, Barr. ‘Bimbola Salu-Hundeyin. Members of the Lagos State House of Assembly, including Hon. Solomon Bonu and Hon. Ajani Owolabi, were also present.

Governor Sanwo-Olu congratulated the graduates of the 2024/2025 cohort, commending them for their dedication and commitment to leadership development. He encouraged the inductees of the 2025/2026 cohort to embrace the academy’s values and use the knowledge and skills gained to contribute positively to Lagos State and Nigeria at large.

The Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy is renowned for nurturing a new generation of leaders through rigorous training, mentorship, and experiential learning, aimed at equipping participants with the competencies required to drive socio-economic development and good governance.

The graduation and induction ceremony highlighted the state government’s commitment to leadership development, youth empowerment, and the continuous cultivation of visionary and responsible leaders for Lagos State.
