Lagos State has officially secured the hosting rights for the 2025 edition of the prestigious Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards, reaffirming its place as the hub of Nigeria’s creative industry. On Sunday, August 31, 2025, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, alongside the Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs. Toke Benson-Awoyinka, received the BON Awards delegation at Marina, Lagos. The team, led by Founder and Chairman Advisory Board, Mr. Seun Oloketuyi, formally presented the hosting rights to the State Government.
Now in its 17th year, the BON Awards is Nigeria’s longest-running pan-national film award ceremony dedicated to celebrating excellence in Nollywood. With Lagos set to host, the event is expected to further spotlight the State as the nation’s creative epicenter, while also stimulating economic growth, promoting cultural tourism, and providing greater opportunities for talent development within the film industry.
