
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), on her election as Vice-President of Airports Council International (ACI) Africa.
The ratification of Mrs. Kuku’s election took place during the 34th ACI Africa General Assembly, held in Lusaka, Zambia, from September 13 to September 19, 2025.
In a statement, President Tinubu commended Mrs. Kuku for her sustained efforts and dedication in ensuring that air transport in Nigeria adheres to the highest global standards. He described her election as a reflection of the excellent work being done by FAAN, which has continued to garner international recognition and accolades.
The President also highlighted Mrs. Kuku’s leadership and foresight, noting that she previously served as Regional Advisor for Africa before becoming a permanent member of the ACI World Governing Board.
Airports Council International (ACI) is the global trade representative for the world’s airports, responsible for setting standards, policies, and best practices. Founded in 1991, ACI represents over 2,000 airports across more than 170 countries and territories worldwide.
Mrs. Kuku’s election as Vice-President of ACI Africa underscores Nigeria’s growing influence in global aviation and the recognition of its airport management standards on the international stage.
