The Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, has showered the Bayelsa Queens Football Club with cash rewards for their outstanding performance in winning the 2024/25 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership. The governor awarded ₦4 million each to the 26 players who actively participated in the league.
Players who were registered with the team but did not play received ₦1 million each as compensation. The head coach was also rewarded with ₦4 million, while the chairman of the board received ₦3 million. Assistant coaches took home ₦2 million each, and backroom staff received ₦1.5 million each. Board members were awarded ₦1 million each, and the supporters club received ₦3 million.
In addition to the governor's rewards, the management of Premium Trust Bank also recognized the team's achievement by rewarding the players and technical officials with ₦2 million.
