Governor Namadi Appoints New Rector for JIGPOLY-CIT Kazaure and Provost for JICORAS Babura

Governor Malam Umar Namadi has approved the appointments of two distinguished academics to lead key higher education institutions in Jigawa State. The appointments are part of the administration’s ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of tertiary education and promote merit-based leadership across the state.

Dr. Habeeba Adamu Kakudi has been appointed as the Rector of Jigawa State Polytechnic for Communication and Information Technology (JIGPOLY-CIT), Kazaure. Dr. Kakudi is a renowned academic with advanced degrees in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, and has served as an Associate Professor at Bayero University, Kano. Her appointment is expected to bring a wealth of experience in academic leadership and technology-driven education to the institution.

In a similar development, Dr. Maji Ibrahim Abubakar has been appointed as the Provost of Jigawa State College of Remedial and Advanced Studies (JICORAS), Babura. Dr. Abubakar holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Ph.D. in Industrial Manufacturing. He previously served as a Chief Lecturer at Binyaminu Usman Polytechnic, where he was known for his dedication to academic excellence and capacity building.

A statement issued by the Office of the Secretary to the State Government emphasized that the appointments were made in line with the state government’s commitment to strengthening the education sector through the engagement of qualified and competent professionals. The appointments, the statement noted, reflect a renewed focus on merit, capacity, and professional integrity.
