The Chairman of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), Dr. Mohammed Bello Shehu, OFR, has reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to digital transformation as a key strategy for improving productivity and service delivery.
Speaking at the opening of a Performance Management System (PMS) training for staff, Dr. Shehu, represented by Hon. Ismail Mohammed Agaka, Federal Commissioner representing Kwara State, highlighted that the new PMS would replace the old annual performance evaluation reports. He emphasized that automation and digital tools would streamline processes, reduce errors, and phase out the outdated analog system. Urging staff to embrace the changes, he noted, “If you do not shake into the system, the system will likely shake you out,” encouraging participants to adjust their mindset and approach to align with forthcoming reforms.
The Secretary to the Commission, Mr. Nwaeze Joseph Okechukwu, described RMAFC as one of Nigeria’s strategic institutions and explained that the training would equip officers with the necessary skills to navigate the digital landscape. He further encouraged staff to learn, unlearn, and relearn while maintaining professional standards, including punctuality and appropriate dressing, to foster a respectful work environment.
In his goodwill message, Mr. Emmanuel Ohiro, PMS Consultant from Reliefline Nigeria Limited, praised the initiative, urging participants to take the training seriously as it is expected to significantly enhance service delivery.
The training, organised by the Administration and Human Resources Department in collaboration with Reliefline Nigeria Limited, commenced on September 16, 2025, and is scheduled to run until September 24, 2025.
The initiative reflects RMAFC’s broader vision to leverage technology for operational efficiency, modernize institutional processes, and improve accountability in public service. Analysts note that embracing digital solutions will not only enhance staff performance but also position the Commission as a model for other strategic institutions in the country.
