The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has apprehended a 34-year-old man, Aminu Abdullahi, for allegedly vandalising and stealing an electricity transformer in Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State.

The suspect was paraded before the press by the newly appointed NSCDC State Commandant, Aletan Olumide, who reiterated the agency’s firm stance against the destruction of critical national assets.

Commandant Olumide stressed that such acts of vandalism not only sabotage government investments but also plunge communities into darkness, disrupting social and economic activities. He reaffirmed the Corps’ commitment to safeguarding public infrastructure and warned that perpetrators would face the full weight of the law.

He further appealed to residents of Kogi State to work hand-in-hand with security agencies by providing timely information that could help prevent crime and ensure safer communities.
