A result sheet from Polling Unit 14, A.C. Bobmanuel Estate in Rumugholu, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, has resurfaced online after being shared by Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Peter Obi, on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle.

According to the document, a total of 208 valid votes were recorded, with the Labour Party (LP) securing 198 votes, the All Progressives Congress (APC) managing 4 votes, and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) recording none. Other parties such as NNPP and PRP had 1 vote and 5 votes respectively.

The post has reignited debate about the conduct of the 2023 elections, which many Nigerians had hoped would set a new standard of transparency and credibility. Instead, reports of irregularities, logistical challenges, and controversies surrounding collation have continued to cast doubt on the overall integrity of the process.

For many citizens, Obi’s post is a reminder of the unanswered questions that surround the polls. As Nigeria looks toward 2027, the demand for genuine reforms that will safeguard the will of the people is growing louder.
