The Executive Governor of Plateau State and Chairman of the Protocol Sub-Committee for the forthcoming People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Elective Convention, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has expressed confidence that the party is fully prepared for the upcoming national convention scheduled for November 2025.
Governor Mutfwang made the remarks on Monday during the inauguration of members of the Protocol Sub-Committee at the PDP Legacy House in Maitama, Abuja. He emphasized that the PDP remains strong, united, and resilient in the face of current political challenges, noting that the convention would reaffirm the party’s democratic strength and internal cohesion.
According to the governor, the inauguration of the sub-committee demonstrates that the PDP remains vibrant and proactive across the country.
“Today’s meeting demonstrates that the PDP is very much alive, and we are taking the convention very seriously. That is why we are approaching our assignment with every sense of responsibility,” Governor Mutfwang stated.
“I have always maintained that the founding fathers of the PDP would not wish to see the party die in our time. We, therefore, have a sacred responsibility to keep this platform alive and strong for the people of Nigeria.”
He further charged members of the protocol team to bring their professional experience and commitment to bear in ensuring a seamless and hitch-free convention. Mutfwang noted that the inauguration provided an opportunity for members to build synergy and enhance coordination in preparation for the event.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Main Planning Committee and Governor of Adamawa State, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, commended Governor Mutfwang for his leadership and dedication. He pledged the main committee’s full support and reaffirmed the PDP’s status as the most credible and people-oriented political party in Nigeria.
Governor Fintiri stressed that the PDP had played a pivotal role in shaping Nigeria’s democracy, nurturing leaders and promoting inclusive governance. He added that the party must remain a credible alternative that Nigerians can continue to rely upon.
The inauguration signals the beginning of intensive preparations for the PDP’s elective convention, which is expected to attract delegates, stakeholders, and party faithful from across the country.
