The Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening citizen-focused service delivery with the inauguration of the Ministerial SERVICOM Committee (MSC) during the commemoration of the 2025 SERVICOM Customer Service Week held at the Ministry’s headquarters in Abuja.
Representing the Honourable Minister, Mohammed Idris, the Permanent Secretary, Ogbodo Chinasa Nnam, said the event underscores the Ministry’s resolve to uphold excellence, accountability, and improved service across all departments and agencies under its supervision.
Speaking on the theme, “Mission Possible,” Nnam described it as both courageous and inspiring, urging public servants to approach their duties with integrity, teamwork, and compassion. “Too often, interactions with public institutions leave citizens feeling unheard. SERVICOM exists to change that narrative — it is a promise that every Nigerian deserves respect and quality service in all engagements with government,” he said.
In her remarks, the SERVICOM Nodal Officer, Mrs. Amta Ode, appreciated the Honourable Minister for his unwavering support, noting that the celebration serves as a time for reflection, recognition, and renewed commitment to citizen satisfaction.
Also addressing the gathering, Mr. Onche Olotu, representing the National Coordinator of SERVICOM, reminded the newly inaugurated members that service delivery must be guided by sincerity of purpose and empathy. “You are now the conscience of SERVICOM within your departments. Let integrity and compassion guide every interaction with citizens,” he advised.
The event also featured award presentations to deserving staff who demonstrated outstanding commitment to efficient and transparent service delivery within the Ministry.
In attendance were Directors, SERVICOM representatives from various agencies, and other participants who collectively pledged to promote a responsive, transparent, and citizen-driven public service in Nigeria.
