The camp of High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, has dismissed as false and misleading social media reports alleging that the former militant leader issued a 21-day ultimatum to the Federal Government demanding the release of IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

In a statement signed by Apostle Bodmas Prince Kemepadei, Chairman of the Izon Cultural Heritage Centre (ICHC), Tompolo’s supporters described the viral claims as the handiwork of mischief-makers and attention seekers bent on exploiting his reputation for their personal agenda.

“High Chief Tompolo has no hand in such claims. These falsehoods are the handiwork of mischief-makers and attention seekers attempting to exploit his name and influence for their own agenda,” the statement read.

The group emphasized that Tompolo’s advocacy remains rooted in peace, unity, and development of the Niger Delta region, as well as the lawful protection of national assets — not in matters concerning Nnamdi Kanu or his movement.

The statement also urged the public and media organizations to disregard the baseless rumours, stressing that they were deliberate attempts to create unnecessary tension and mislead the public.

Apostle Kemepadei reaffirmed that Tompolo remains committed to peace, dialogue, and nation-building, adding that he will not be distracted by propaganda or fake news.
