The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State, Jarrett Tenebe, has issued a stern warning that commissioners who fail to wear President Bola Tinubu’s signature cap to State Executive Council (SEC) meetings may face suspension from the party.
Speaking during a television interview, Tenebe emphasized the importance of party loyalty and adherence to directives, stating:
“If you refuse to wear the cap as the governor has directed, we will suspend you. That is indiscipline and insubordination.”
He further explained that the directive is tied to the party’s political commitments, including the pledge to secure 3.5 million votes in upcoming elections. Tenebe stressed that appointments come with expectations of loyalty to both the party and the President.
“We are expressing our loyalty to the President by wearing the cap. Those complaining are not members of the APC. We, in Edo, have made it clear. No Asiwaju cap, no Exco,” he added.
The warning highlights the APC’s insistence on unity and conformity within its ranks in Edo State, ahead of critical electoral engagements.
