The United Church of Christ in Nigeria (UCCN/HEKAN) has sounded the alarm following a violent attack in Farin Dutse community, Kauru Local Government Area, Kaduna State. The attack left one of its pastors, Reverend Yahaya Kambasiya, dead, and saw over 20 residents abducted by armed assailants.
UCCN described the incident as a tragic escalation in insecurity affecting the region, urging authorities to take urgent action to rescue the abducted individuals and prevent further bloodshed. The church also called on security agencies to intensify patrols and interventions in communities vulnerable to attacks.
Residents report that such violent incidents have become frequent in parts of Kaduna State, with abductions and targeted attacks increasing tensions and fear among local populations.
No official statement has yet been released by the Kaduna State Police Command regarding the attack or the status of the abducted persons.
The church has appealed to the public and relevant authorities to remain vigilant and support efforts to secure the safe release of those kidnapped.
