Activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has shared his experiences behind bars, emphasizing his unwavering commitment to ending what he describes as “modern-day apartheid in the South-East.”
Sowore highlighted the courage and resilience of those imprisoned alongside Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), and reaffirmed his dedication to securing Kanu’s release, calling the detention “unjust and illegal.”
In a statement, Sowore stressed that the historic struggle for freedom and self-determination remains undeterred despite the challenges faced in detention facilities. He underscored the importance of solidarity, resilience, and public awareness in sustaining the momentum of the cause, vowing that their fight would continue until justice prevails.
