The President of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), Engr. Prof. A. Z. Abubakar, spearheaded an inspection visit to ongoing infrastructural projects in Gombe State ahead of the North East Regional Engineering Stakeholders Summit and the inauguration of the North East Regional Steering Committee (NERSC), scheduled for November 4–5, 2025.

The inspection was conducted alongside the Executive Governor of Borno State, Engr. Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, FNSE, who was represented by Engr. Kabir Mohammed Wanori, FNSE, and other dignitaries. The summit aims to convene key stakeholders in the engineering sector to discuss strategies for sustainable infrastructural development within the subregion. The inspection also provided a preparatory platform for COREN and participating states to evaluate ongoing projects and align on best practices.

Other attendees included members of the COREN Council, representatives from various state governments, and senior engineers from both public and private institutions, all of whom reaffirmed their support for COREN’s efforts to strengthen professional engineering practice and enhance project quality monitoring across Nigeria.
