Residents of Dan Maliki community in Kalgo Ward, Sabon-Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State, were thrown into terror as bandits reportedly loyal to Bello Turji invaded the area, killing and injuring several people while abducting at least 20 men and women.

The attack comes less than 24 hours after another raid attributed to the same group in Bargaja community, Isa LGA, within Sokoto East Senatorial District, further heightening fear and anxiety across the region. Witnesses describe chaotic scenes as villagers fled their homes to escape the assailants, leaving communities on edge and uncertain about who might be targeted next.

The repeated attacks underscore the urgent need for government and security agencies to reinforce forces in the district, intensify coordinated operations, and expedite efforts to secure the safe return of those abducted. Citizens and community leaders have called for immediate intervention to restore safety and confidence in the region.

Amid the mounting insecurity, residents continue to appeal for sustained protection measures to prevent further loss of life and property, emphasizing that swift action is critical to halting the cycle of violence.
