Ex-OGTV Broadcaster, Security Guard Found Dead in Ogun Home

A former staff member of Ogun State Television (OGTV), Mrs. Kitan Oyesiku, popularly known as “Aunty Kitan,” and her security guard have been found dead at her residence in Agodo community, along the Abeokuta–Siun–Sagamu Expressway in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The tragic incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, June 21, 2026, and was discovered after church members became concerned when Mrs. Oyesiku failed to attend service and could not be reached. According to police, the concerned church members visited her residence to check on her welfare, where they made the shocking discovery and raised the alarm.

The incident was subsequently reported at the Owode-Egba Police Division by a resident of Iyana Agodo Village, prompting immediate deployment of detectives to the scene.

Preliminary police findings revealed signs of forced entry and disturbance within the premises, suggesting that the attackers may have broken into the residence before carrying out the attack.

The body of the security guard was discovered inside the security post, while Mrs. Oyesiku’s body was later found inside her apartment.

Police also confirmed that the deceased broadcaster’s vehicle and mobile phone were missing from the residence, a development now forming part of ongoing investigations.

The remains of both victims have been deposited at the morgue of the State Hospital, Ijaiye, Abeokuta.

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Ogun State Police Command, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, said a comprehensive investigation has commenced to unravel the circumstances surrounding the killings.

The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, has ordered an intensive investigation and expanded surveillance operations aimed at tracking down and arresting those responsible.

Mrs. Oyesiku, a retired Senior Programme Producer with Ogun State Television, was widely respected in broadcasting circles and fondly known as “Aunty Kitan” for her years of service and impact in the media industry.

Her death has sent shockwaves across the media community, with colleagues, family members, and residents mourning the loss of a respected broadcaster.

Police have assured the public that no effort will be spared in ensuring justice is served and urged anyone with useful information to come forward to assist investigators.
