Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has sounded a grave alarm, alleging that some unnamed persons are actively seeking "any means" to eliminate two of Nigeria's most prominent opposition figures: former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi. In a video posted on his X handle on Sunday, September 6, 2026, the controversial cleric warned the two politicians to be "very conscious" of their security ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
While Ayodele did not name who he claims is behind the alleged plot, he was unequivocal in his warning to the two political heavyweights. "Obi and Atiku, be very conscious of your security. They are looking for any means to eliminate Obi and Atiku," he declared.
