President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed deep sadness over the Abuja–Kaduna train derailment reported earlier today.

In a message from Brazil, where he is on an official visit, the President said his thoughts and prayers are with the injured passengers, their families, and all those affected by the distressing incident.

President Tinubu noted that he is closely monitoring updates on the situation and will receive a full briefing to ensure that immediate support is provided for the victims. He added that the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has already begun addressing the matter, while stressing that measures must be taken to prevent such accidents in the future.

Stone Reporters News gathered that the Abuja–Kaduna rail corridor has remained a critical transport link in the country, making safety concerns along the route a recurring national issue.
