The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the National Judicial Institute (NJI) have reaffirmed their commitment to collaboration in tackling corruption, economic crimes, and financial malpractices in Nigeria.

The resolution followed a courtesy visit on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, by the NJI Administrator, Hon. Justice B.A. Adejumo, and his management team to the EFCC Headquarters in Abuja, where they met with the Commission’s Executive Chairman, Mr. Ola Olukoyede.

During the visit, Justice Adejumo praised the EFCC for its role in safeguarding national resources and promoting accountability. He highlighted the significance of integrity within the judiciary and public service, noting that cooperation with the EFCC is crucial to national progress.

“No nation can survive without a Commission like the EFCC. Funds meant for development and citizen welfare are often stolen by a few, leaving many in poverty. With the leadership of Ola Olukoyede, the EFCC has shown positive progress, and I encourage him and his team to continue their excellent work,” Justice Adejumo said.

He further emphasized that judges play a critical role in validating EFCC investigations and prosecutions, adding that the NJI will ensure judicial officers understand the law and uphold integrity. “If anyone is involved in illegality, I will not shield them but hand them over to the EFCC,” he affirmed.

In response, EFCC Chairman Mr. Ola Olukoyede congratulated Justice Adejumo on his recent appointment and reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to deepening ties with the judiciary. He acknowledged the vital role of judicial support in ensuring the success of the EFCC’s mandate.

Stone Reporters News gathered that this renewed partnership underscores the importance of synergy between anti-corruption agencies and the judiciary to enhance transparency, accountability, and the rule of law in Nigeria.
