The Bauchi State Police Command has successfully dismantled a syndicate of criminals engaged in conspiracy, theft, and possession of suspected stolen property. The operation was carried out following a report of a burglary at a warehouse in the Industrial Area on Gudum Road, Bauchi metropolis.

On July 25, 2025, unknown assailants broke into the warehouse, restrained the watchman, and made off with a truck valued at ₦30 million. The police promptly responded to the report, evacuated the victim to a specialist hospital, and launched an investigation. The stolen truck was later recovered in Kano State, and the suspects were apprehended.

The investigation led to the arrest of four suspects, including Sadiq Abubakar, a 20-year-old student, who was identified as the prime suspect. He admitted to orchestrating the theft of his father's tipper truck and colluding with Abubakar Shehu, a car dealer, to execute the plan. The suspects claimed to have inherited the truck from their deceased father and sought to sell it.

The investigation is ongoing, and the Commissioner of Police, Bauchi State Police Command, has directed that the suspects be charged in court for the offenses established. The police are working to ensure that justice is served and that the suspects face the consequences of their actions.

The Bauchi State Police Command's successful operation demonstrates its commitment to combating crime and protecting the lives and property of citizens. The police will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that criminals are brought to justice and that the state remains safe and secure.
