Governor Oborevwori Pledges Fresh Support for Federal University of Medical and Health Sciences, Kwale

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, welcomed the Governing Council of the Federal University of Medical and Health Sciences, Kwale, at Government House, Asaba. The delegation, led by Pro-Chancellor Dr. Salisu Banye, commended the Governor for his role in the successful take-off of the institution.

Dr. Banye highlighted the state’s contribution of land, a Certificate of Occupancy, and facilities at the Technical College, Kwale, which currently serves as the university’s temporary site. He further outlined pressing needs at the permanent location, including roads, hostels, perimeter fencing, utilities, and logistics, while seeking sustained collaboration with the state government.

In response, Governor Oborevwori reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the university, describing it as a landmark investment in both education and healthcare. He immediately approved the electrification of the Kwale campus and announced the donation of a 30-seater bus to support students.

The Governor emphasized that Delta State will continue to maintain its leadership in higher education while driving the MORE Agenda, which prioritizes meaningful development across key sectors.
