Ogbotobo Community Celebrates Renovation of CPS Building, Boosting Education in Bayelsa

The people of Ogbotobo Community recently marked a significant milestone as they welcomed the Chairman of Alabini Rural Development Authority (RDA) in Ekeremor LGA Constituency 3, Bayelsa State, Hon. Braye Eddy, and his delegation for the commissioning of the newly renovated CPS Ogbotobo building, a project set to transform the community’s educational landscape.

The formal commissioning ceremony was led by Hon. John Alla, Commissioner for Tourism Development, Bayelsa State, who dedicated the building to Almighty God and expressed gratitude to the Prosperity Government for extending the dividends of democracy to the creeks. He also urged community members to ensure the proper maintenance of the facility.

Hon. Braye Eddy highlighted that the renovation fulfilled campaign promises made by Governor Senator Douye Diri during his 2023 visit to Ogbotobo. He credited the successful completion of the project to the commitment of the Prosperity Administration and the tireless efforts of Deputy Governor Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo. “I am happy seeing the joy on the faces of the people,” Eddy said, emphasizing that the project reflects the government’s dedication to ensuring that the people of Alabini feel the impact of good governance. He also commended the community for their peaceful cooperation throughout the project.

Community leaders expressed their gratitude, acknowledging the government’s efforts in revamping the dilapidated school building. Chief Dennis Perebousugha, representing the Traditional Rulers Council, affirmed that Governor Diri had fulfilled his campaign promises, while Comr. M.D. Francis, Vice Chairman of Ogbotobo, welcomed the improved learning environment for children and called for continued focus on human capacity development. Women and student representatives, Mrs. Sele-efiemone Josiah and Comr. Gift Mathew, also voiced appreciation for the government’s transformative initiatives.

The ceremony drew notable members of the delegation, including former Alabini RDA Chairman Hon. Ekpo Agbedi, former Bayelsa Housing and Property Development Board member Hon. Victor Ebiyekon, and RDA members Comr. Helen Oruseigha and Mr. Philip Ekemerigha, underscoring a shared commitment to improving education and infrastructure in the region.

The renovation of CPS Ogbotobo stands as a testament to the effectiveness of good governance and community collaboration, promising a brighter future for the next generation and reinforcing the Prosperity Government’s dedication to education in Bayelsa State.
