
Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, former Vice-President of Nigeria, marked a special milestone on Monday, reflecting on ten years of visionary leadership by Dr. Akinwumi Adesina at the African Development Bank (AfDB).
In a post on X, Prof. Osinbajo recalled standing in the same hall in Abidjan on September 1, 2015, to witness Dr. Adesina’s inauguration as AfDB President. A decade later, he returned to the podium to celebrate the conclusion of Dr. Adesina’s tenure, highlighting a remarkable period of growth and impact for the Bank.
The event was attended by key Nigerian dignitaries, including the Hon. Minister of State for Finance, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite (representing the President), the Hon. Minister of Livestock Development, Alhaji Idi Mukhtar Maiha, the Governor of Oyo State, HE Seyi Makinde, the Governor of Plateau State, HE Caleb Mutfwang, the Deputy Governor of Ogun State, HE Noimot Salako-Oyedele, and the Oniru of Iruland, HRH Oba Abdulwasiu Omogbolahan Lawal, who previously served as Lagos State Commissioner for Agriculture.
Prof. Osinbajo and his wife, Dolly, also expressed their appreciation for the warm hospitality of Dr. Adesina and his wife, Yemisi Adesina, during the memorable occasion, celebrating a decade of transformative leadership at the AfDB.
