Dangote Offers Lucrative Opportunities for Drivers, Including Housing Loans

Published on 17 September 2025 at 17:06

Business magnate Aliko Dangote has announced that drivers working under his Dangote CNG initiative can now apply for housing loans, emphasizing the company’s commitment to employee welfare. Speaking on the income potential for drivers, Dangote revealed that workers earn significantly more than the national minimum wage, with earnings reportedly surpassing those of university graduates.

Dangote further invited unemployed members of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) to join the Dangote CNG drivers program, highlighting that participants could earn up to four times the national minimum wage. The initiative is seen as part of Dangote’s broader efforts to improve livelihoods, create stable employment, and provide financial empowerment for workers in the transport and logistics sector.

Industry observers note that such programs could set a benchmark for corporate social responsibility and employee-focused schemes in Nigeria, encouraging other companies to explore similar models for workforce development. The combination of competitive remuneration and access to housing finance is expected to boost both staff retention and job satisfaction.
