The wife of the President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has officially launched the "Flow with Confidence" Menstrual Hygiene Intervention Programme in Kebbi State under the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), targeting schoolgirls’ health and educational participation. The programme aims to empower girls by providing knowledge, dignity, and confidence through improved menstrual health.

The launch was part of a nationwide rollout, with 370,000 packs of disposable sanitary pads distributed to schoolgirls across all states. Each state, including the Federal Capital Territory, received 10,000 packs for free distribution through their First Ladies and RHI Coordinators. In Kebbi State, the First Lady and RHI State Coordinator, Hajia Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris, represented the President’s wife during the launch in Birnin Kebbi. She highlighted that many girls face challenges during their menstrual cycle, including using unsafe alternatives or staying home due to the cost of sanitary products, contributing to absenteeism and school dropouts.

Hajia Zainab stated that the programme seeks to address these challenges and ensure that girls have access to sanitary products, allowing them to attend school without interruption. She officially handed over 10,000 packs of disposable sanitary pads to deserving students in Kebbi State and called on Local Government Chairmen to ensure proper distribution. She also appealed to corporate organizations, NGOs, and well-meaning Nigerians to support the initiative, urging community, religious, and traditional leaders to monitor its implementation.

Students at the launch received a pack of disposable sanitary pads sufficient for 12 months and cash support from the office of the First Lady of Kebbi State. Hajia Zainab encouraged the students to make the most of the support and remain focused on their education.

The Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Dr. Halima Muhammad Bande, commended the initiative, noting the importance of supporting girls to remain in school and ensuring that sanitary pad distribution is properly monitored. According to Khadijat Saidu, Press Secretary to the First Lady of Kebbi State, the programme represents a commitment to supporting the dignity, well-being, and future of every Nigerian girl, and the distribution, completed on 2nd October 2025, aimed to ensure every beneficiary received assistance.

The "Flow with Confidence" programme is expected to contribute to improving attendance, reducing school dropouts, and promoting awareness of menstrual hygiene, while engaging local communities in supporting schoolgirls’ health and education.
