Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri on Monday spearheaded the inauguration of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Convention Protocol Sub-Committee, charging members to deliver effectively on their mandate towards ensuring a successful national convention scheduled for November 2025.
Fintiri, who also serves as Chairman of the National Convention Committee, reaffirmed his loyalty to the PDP, describing the party as one with enduring legacies and a promising future.
During the inauguration of the Protocol Sub-Committee led by the Governor of Plateau State, Barrister Caleb Muftwang, Fintiri commended members for accepting the task and urged them to demonstrate professionalism, unity, and commitment in the discharge of their responsibilities.
He further disclosed his intention to arrive in Ibadan weeks ahead of the convention to oversee preparations and ensure a hitch-free event.
Governor Fintiri also assured all aspirants vying for various elective positions of a transparent and credible process, reaffirming his commitment to upholding the democratic values of the PDP.
The event brought together party officials, stakeholders, and key members of the sub-committee, who pledged their support to ensure the convention reflects the PDP’s principles of fairness, inclusivity, and accountability.
Observers note that the successful execution of the convention is crucial for maintaining internal party cohesion ahead of the 2027 general elections, making the role of the Protocol Sub-Committee central to the party’s planning and organizational success.
The PDP leadership expressed confidence that with proper coordination and adherence to established protocols, the upcoming national convention would serve as a benchmark for future political gatherings in Nigeria.
