New INEC Chairman Reaffirms Commitment to Free and Credible Elections

The newly appointed Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Joash Amupitan, has assured Nigerians that the Commission will not manipulate or rig elections for any politician.

Speaking during his first official address to INEC staff, Professor Amupitan emphasized that the Commission’s top priority is to deliver free, fair, and credible elections across the country.

He urged INEC personnel to uphold professionalism, transparency, and neutrality in the discharge of their duties, stressing that the integrity of Nigeria’s democracy depends on their commitment to the electoral process.

“We cannot rig elections for politicians; our priority is to give Nigerians free and credible elections,” the INEC Chairman stated.

Professor Amupitan also reaffirmed that the Commission will continue to strengthen its electoral processes, deploy technology responsibly, and ensure that the will of the people prevails in all future elections.
