The Delta State Police Command has arrested a suspected kidnapper, an ammunition peddler, and a female courier in a major crackdown led by the Command’s Special Assignment Team (CP-SAT). The operation also led to the recovery of 115 rounds of live AK-47 ammunition.

According to a statement from the Command, the suspects were apprehended following intelligence on the movement of illegal firearms and explosives in the state. The female courier was intercepted while allegedly transporting the ammunition, highlighting a growing trend of criminal networks employing unsuspecting individuals to ferry deadly weapons.

While providing details of the arrests, the Delta Police emphasized that the operation is part of ongoing efforts to combat kidnapping, gunrunning, and violent crimes in the state. A senior officer stated, “We are determined to dismantle criminal networks endangering lives and property. The suspects will be thoroughly investigated and prosecuted to the full extent of the law.”

The Command has urged members of the public to continue providing credible information that could aid security agencies in preventing criminal activities. Citizens are reminded that cooperation with the police is vital in ensuring safety across Delta State.

Investigations are ongoing, and the suspects are currently in police custody pending further action.
