Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North Senatorial District, has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu will support the creation of Anioma State, following a successful referendum.

In an interview with Channels Television, the lawmaker said the President had assured him of backing the push for the new state, provided legislators do their part in the National Assembly.

“The President assured me before I left PDP that he would support our push for Anioma state if we do our part in the National Assembly, so I'm sure after the referendum he will fall in line with our agenda. It may look like an impossible task but this President is very strategic and he has done wonderful things, but the most important thing he would have done for the Anomas and Igbos is to give us that one state,” Nwoko stated.

The senator’s remarks highlight ongoing discussions around the proposed creation of Anioma State, a development aimed at addressing regional representation and governance within Delta State.
