Ondo State Governor, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, on Tuesday officially presented the Instrument of Appointment and Staff of Office to Oba Akintoye Felix Adeoye, marking the installation of the new Olu-Oke of Oke-Igbo in Ile-Oluji/Oke-Igbo Local Government Area. The event formally concluded years of traditional and legal disputes over the throne.

Governor Aiyedatiwa explained that Oba Adeoye’s appointment followed a court ruling nullifying the previous selection, thereby restoring the native laws and customs of Oke-Igbo as the guiding principle for monarchal succession. The governor urged the new monarch to foster unity, peace, and development, while appealing to residents and former contenders to support the throne and promote community cohesion.

Highlighting his administration’s broader commitment to grassroots development, Governor Aiyedatiwa pointed to ongoing investments in Amotekun security operations, healthcare improvements, and road infrastructure projects across all 18 local government areas in the state.

The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Amidu Takuro, alongside the LG Chairman, Adeboye Adebare, commended the governor for following due process in resolving the protracted chieftaincy dispute and ensuring a peaceful transition.

In his acceptance speech, Oba Adeoye pledged to promote reconciliation and community peace, and announced ₦50,000 empowerment support for 100 women traders, in honour of Governor Aiyedatiwa’s ongoing grassroots empowerment initiatives.
