The Plateau State authorities have arrested four individuals, including the financial secretary of St. Vincent De Paul Parish in Pankshin, for allegedly kidnapping two Catholic priests, Fathers Kenneth Kanwa and Jude Nwachukwu. The suspects demanded a ₦25 million ransom for the priests' release, contrary to initial reports suggesting Fulani herdsmen were involved.
One of the suspects was arrested in Ogun State, specifically in the Ago-Iwoye area.

After a week in captivity, the priests were released and admitted to the hospital for examination. The Plateau State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria confirmed their release.
