U.S. President Donald Trump has announced plans to implement a permanent pause on migration from all Third World countries, citing the need for the American immigration system to “fully recover.”

In a statement, Trump criticized previous policies under President Joe Biden, pledging to terminate all admissions processed during the Biden administration, including those signed using the president’s Autopen. He further outlined that only individuals deemed “net assets” to the United States or capable of demonstrating loyalty to the country would be permitted to remain.

Trump said,

“I will permanently pause migration from all Third World Countries to allow the U.S. system to fully recover, terminate all of the millions of Biden illegal admissions, including those signed by Sleepy Joe Biden’s Autopen, and remove anyone who is not a net asset to the United States, or is incapable of loving our Country.”

The proposal, if implemented, would mark a significant tightening of U.S. immigration policy, potentially affecting millions of migrants and drawing intense debate over its humanitarian, economic, and diplomatic implications.

Analysts note that such a move would require significant legal and bureaucratic processes and could face challenges in U.S. courts and international forums.

The announcement comes amid heightened political rhetoric ahead of the 2026 U.S. elections, as immigration remains a central and polarizing issue in American politics.
