Benue Police Repel Bandits, Rescue Stranded Passengers Along Adoka Road

Makurdi, Benue State — Security forces in Benue State successfully repelled an armed group of bandits who had reportedly been targeting travellers along the Adoka Road, rescuing several passengers stranded as a result of the attempted attacks. The operation was carried out by police personnel in coordination with local vigilante units and community stakeholders.

According to the Benue State Police Command, the incident occurred late in the evening when commuters travelling along the Adoka corridor were ambushed by armed assailants. Quick response by patrol teams prevented any reported fatalities, and officers were able to secure the area, escort passengers to safety, and apprehend some suspects involved in the attack.

The rescued individuals, who had been stranded for hours amid fears of further attacks, expressed gratitude to the police for the timely intervention.
