Reports confirm that Saminu Hassan, a resident of Sabon Layin Galadima in Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State, was killed on Saturday evening after armed bandits opened fire on the vehicle he was traveling in while returning from the Dandume market. The attack occurred along the Marabar Maigora–Unguwar Rimi road, a route frequently used by traders and residents moving between villages and towns in the area.
According to eyewitnesses, Hassan had concluded his business at the Dandume market, a busy trading hub for farmers, traders, and local residents, and was on his way home when suspected bandits ambushed the vehicle. The gunmen emerged from nearby bushy areas as dusk fell and opened fire on the passengers, killing Hassan instantly. Other travellers were left in shock, with some fleeing for safety along the roadside.
