Amid escalating insecurity in Jos North Local Government Area, Plateau State police have arrested a man impersonating a soldier in the Angwan Rukuba community. The arrest is part of intensified efforts to restore calm following a deadly attack that shook the region and heightened fears among residents.
The suspect was detained on April 1, 2026, after being observed moving around the community in military-style clothing and carrying a Nigerian Military School identity card that appeared to be forged. Security authorities confirmed that the man was acting suspiciously, raising alarms among patrol teams, and he was promptly taken into custody for questioning.
