Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has been awarded the 2026 Governor of the Year title at an international ceremony held in London, United Kingdom, in recognition of his administration’s governance reforms and focus on public service delivery since assuming office in 2023.
The award was presented by Triangle Media International Magazine during its 10th annual lecture and awards ceremony, which took place at the Grand Hall of King’s College London. The event formed part of the 2026 Face of Africa Leadership Award series, a platform designed to recognise individuals across Africa who have demonstrated notable contributions to leadership, governance, and socio-economic development.
According to official statements released by the governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Idris, the recognition highlights what organisers described as measurable progress achieved under Lawal’s leadership, particularly in service delivery and institutional reforms in Zamfara State.
