Air Peace has announced a temporary disruption affecting its scheduled Lagos–London Gatwick service after a routine post-boarding technical check identified a minor aircraft fault requiring immediate attention.
According to the airline, the issue was detected after passengers had already boarded the aircraft. In response, the aircraft was withdrawn from service and all passengers were safely disembarked in line with international aviation safety procedures.
The airline stated that passenger safety and crew wellbeing remain its highest priority, stressing that the decision to halt the flight was taken as a precautionary measure and in compliance with global aviation standards.
Air Peace also confirmed that affected passengers were promptly informed about the development and provided with support measures, including hotel accommodation and other necessary assistance to reduce inconvenience caused by the delay.
To restore operations, the airline disclosed that a replacement aircraft would be dispatched from London, with passengers expected to depart later this morning.
The management of Air Peace expressed appreciation to passengers for their patience, understanding, and cooperation during the disruption, while reaffirming the airline’s commitment to safe and reliable service delivery.
The development comes as airlines globally continue to emphasise strict adherence to safety checks and operational procedures, particularly on long-haul international routes where technical compliance remains critical.
