An international manhunt is underway for a British father of Zimbabwean heritage who is suspected of murdering his wife and two young daughters before fleeing the United Kingdom for Zimbabwe. Bedfordshire Police have named the suspect as 45-year-old Ndodana Mkhanyisi Tshuma, also known as Mark, a British citizen who is believed to have left the country from Heathrow Airport on a British passport on Saturday, 4 July 2026.

The bodies of his wife, Nothabo Zandile Tshuma, 42, and their daughters, Natalie, 15, and Nala, five, were discovered on Monday, 6 July 2026, at the family's £1.3 million detached home in Carnoustie Drive, Great Denham, an affluent suburb near Bedford in central England. Police forced entry into the property after concerns were raised that the family had not been seen for several days. Formal identification is yet to take place, but officers believe the victims are the suspect's wife and children.

Detective Inspector Lee Martin, leading the investigation, confirmed that Tshuma is believed to have left the UK on Saturday and is now in Zimbabwe. In a direct appeal to the fugitive, Martin stated: "We know that Mark Tshuma left the country on Saturday and is now believed to be in Zimbabwe. We are urgently working to find and apprehend him, and would appeal to him directly to hand himself in". He added: "Mark, unthinkable harm has been caused to those around you, and this has left your relatives and friends utterly devastated. Criminal investigation knows no borders".

Tshuma, who runs a property business called Nexus Trove Holdings from his home address, had assets of just over £1 million at the end of 2024. The family home, which features a swimming pool and was purchased for £1,270,000 in May 2024, is now at the centre of a major police investigation. However, Zimbabwe does not appear on the UK's list of extradition treaty partners, potentially complicating efforts to bring him back to face justice.

Assistant Chief Constable John Murphy, speaking under Operation Snowdrift, described the incident as "deeply distressing" and confirmed that police are committing all necessary resources to establish exactly what happened. He also sought to reassure the public, stating there is nothing to suggest any wider risk. Residents have expressed shock at the tragedy, with one neighbour describing the area as "such a nice and safe area". Flowers have been laid outside the property in memory of the victims.

Bedfordshire Police have urged anyone with information, particularly those who witnessed anything suspicious on Carnoustie Drive on Friday, 4 July, or Saturday, 5 July, to contact them and quote Operation Snowdrift. The force has also released CCTV images of Tshuma as part of the ongoing hunt.
