The All Progressives Congress (APC) has described its performance in the just-concluded legislative bye-elections held on August 16, 2025, as a clear demonstration of the trust Nigerians continue to place in the ruling party.
Speaking at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja, the party’s National Organizing Secretary, H.E. Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, OFR, said the APC emerged victorious in 13 out of the 16 contested seats across 12 states of the federation. He credited the win to the commitment of party leaders, members, and supporters nationwide, stressing that the outcome is a reaffirmation of citizens’ confidence in the APC’s leadership.
Argungu listed constituencies where the APC secured victories, including Adamawa, Edo, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Kogi, Niger, Ogun, Taraba, and Zamfara, describing the results as “remarkable and historic.” He added that the wins highlight the resilience of the APC and the growing nationwide acceptance of its policies.
The National Organizing Secretary explained that the next step for the party would be to convene an interactive session with all newly elected senators, House of Representatives members, and state assembly lawmakers. The meeting, according to him, will serve as a platform to share ideas, strengthen unity, and align the legislators with the APC’s broader vision.
In his remarks, he expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his leadership, as well as to the Progressives Governors Forum, members of the National Working Committee, and loyal supporters across the country.
Argungu reaffirmed the party’s commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda, assuring Nigerians that both the President and the APC remain dedicated to delivering welfare, security, and prosperity to all citizens.
“The task before us is enormous,” he said, “but with discipline, loyalty, and unity, we will continue to deliver victories for the APC and progress for Nigeria.”
