The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Taraba State has recorded a major political boost following the defection of thousands of members from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), and the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Muri A Ward, Didango, Karim Lamido Local Government Area.
The decampees, who were formally received on Saturday, September 13, 2025, said they were convinced by the APC’s leadership style and the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. They pledged their loyalty to the party, citing renewed confidence in its vision for national and state development.
Receiving the new members on behalf of the APC State Chairman, Barr. Ibrahim Tukur El-Sudi, the APC Chairman of Karim Lamido LGA, Alhaji Aminu Saleh Karim, described the defections as a patriotic step and a wise political decision. He assured the decampees of a level playing ground in all party activities, stressing that the APC remains open and inclusive.
The defection event was facilitated by Senator Sani Abubakar Danladi, a prominent APC stakeholder from Karim Lamido, who said the development signals a new political momentum for the party in Taraba State. He emphasized that the influx of members from rival parties would further strengthen the APC’s base ahead of future elections.
Observers note that the wave of defections has boosted the APC’s visibility in the state, with reports that more political groups are considering aligning with the ruling party.
