A former Chairman of Oluyole Local Government Area in Oyo State, Kehinde Olaosebikan, has officially declared his intention to contest the Oluyole Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives, while also donating a new secretariat to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the local government area.

Olaosebikan made the declaration on Monday at the APC's weekly meeting in Oluyole Local Government Area, where he also unveiled the newly donated party secretariat. According to a statement and multiple news reports, the former council boss, who also served as Chief Press Secretary to the late Governor Lam Adesina, used the occasion to reaffirm his commitment to mobilizing support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

The former chairman expressed confidence that President Tinubu would secure a second term due to several reforms implemented under the Renewed Hope Agenda. He vowed to triple the President’s votes in the federal constituency by 2027, adding that his support for the Tinubu administration has been consistent.

Seeking the APC ticket for the House of Representatives, Olaosebikan said he enjoys cross-party backing for his ambition. According to him, members of other political parties in Oluyole Local Government have assured him that if the APC gives him the ticket, they would mobilize their members not only for his election but for all APC candidates in the next year's election.

He explained that the new secretariat was necessary for a progressive party like the APC to have a more spacious and befitting facility for its activities. The new building is expected to house offices for the party chairman, secretary, state party executives from the local government, and spaces for other officers, including a convenient meeting area for youth and women’s groups.

On his legislative agenda, Olaosebikan pledged to prioritize the development of the constituency, provide education support and skills acquisition programmes for youths, facilitate employment opportunities, assist indigent students, and extend support to women.

The event, which drew a large turnout of party faithful, was presided over by the APC chairman in the local government, Dotun Oladipupo. Notable party leaders in attendance included Adeyemo, Razak Akilapa, Muideen Abiodun, Ibrahim Olaifa, Moruf Lamolo, Tunde Elegbede, Waheed Adewale, Kamorudeen Adeoye and Alamu.

Sources close to the party indicate that Olaosebikan is among several aspirants eyeing the Oluyole Federal Constituency seat, but his donation and cross-party endorsement may influence the party's primary election scheduled for later this year.
