Nasarawa State Governor, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, has called for enhanced partnership and complementary funding support from the World Bank to consolidate developmental achievements and expand access to quality, affordable healthcare for residents of the state.

Governor Sule made the appeal while leading a high-powered delegation to the World Bank Country Office in Abuja. He was accompanied by the State Commissioner for Finance, Mrs. Munira Abdullahi; Commissioner for Health, Dr. Gaza Gwamna; Commissioner for Education, Dr. John D. W. Mamman; and the Executive Secretary of the Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr. Usman Iskilu.

During the meeting with the new World Bank Country Director, Mr. Mathew A. Verghis, Governor Sule highlighted the progress Nasarawa State has achieved in strengthening healthcare service delivery across primary, secondary, and tertiary levels.

The Governor also outlined the state government’s commitment to healthcare development through initiatives such as the Nasarawa Health Insurance Scheme, the Impact Project, maternal and child health programs, the NG-CARES initiative, and the ongoing efforts to establish functional healthcare facilities in all 147 electoral wards of the state.

These steps, according to Governor Sule, are aimed at ensuring equitable access to essential health services and improving the overall well-being of Nasarawa residents.
