
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has announced a 50 percent reduction in fares on the Lagos Rail Mass Transit Blue Line on Thursday, 4th September 2025, as part of the celebrations marking its second anniversary.
In a statement on Wednesday, the Governor expressed pride in the achievements of the Blue Line since its inception, noting that over the past two years, the rail system has safely transported more than five million passengers without a single accident. He highlighted that trains now operate every ten minutes, completing over 90 trips daily, significantly easing mobility across the state.
“To mark this second anniversary, I am pleased to announce a 50% reduction in fares on the Blue Line for tomorrow, Thursday, September 4, 2025. If you have not yet experienced the Blue Line, I encourage you to take a ride and see what we have built together,” Sanwo-Olu said.
The Governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to developing a more efficient, safer, and faster transportation network, emphasizing that the Blue Line is a crucial step toward realizing the Lagos of the future.
