The Lagos State Health Management Agency (LASHMA) has been awarded the prestigious 2025 EDGE Outstanding Health Management of the Decade Award in recognition of its contributions to improving health insurance services and the health conditions of residents in Lagos State.
The award was presented during the 13th Edition of the EDGE Awards titled “Excellence Beyond Borders,” held at Balmoral Event Hall, Sheraton, Ikeja. Speaking during the event, the Publisher and CEO of Marketing Edge Group, Mr. John Ajayi, explained that the EDGE Awards aim to recognize brands, advertising excellence, outstanding professionals, public officials, and change-makers who have made significant impacts in their respective sectors. He added that winners were selected based on data, statistics, content reviews, analysis, and market insights obtained through investigative journalism.
Mr. Ajayi noted that the awards celebrate organizations and individuals who have “dared to dream big, overcome obstacles, and made a difference” in their areas of operation. He congratulated all awardees, including LASHMA, urging them to continue working diligently and contributing to national growth and development.
Receiving the award, LASHMA’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Emmanuella Zamba, represented by the Head of Customer Service, Mr. Lanre Green, and Assistant Director of Public Affairs, Adeyinka Gbemibade, expressed appreciation for the recognition. Dr. Zamba stated that the award would motivate the agency to continue ensuring that Lagos residents have access to affordable, quality, and equitable healthcare services.
She added that LASHMA will continue to develop innovative strategies to encourage more residents to register and enroll in the Social Health Insurance Scheme, supporting the Lagos State Government’s goal of achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC). Residents are encouraged to participate in ILERA EKO and benefit from its healthcare packages, which reduce out-of-pocket medical expenses.
Dr. Zamba also outlined the agency’s flexible payment options, including the ILERA EKO individual plan, family plans, the “ILERA EKO Pay-Small-Small” initiative, and the ILERA N’TIWA Cooperative. Registration can be completed in person at LASHMA offices or online via USSD code 6700006# or the LASHMA website (www.lashma.com). Customer service is available 24/7 via toll-free lines, WhatsApp, or the website chat box. She emphasized that the agency operates a zero-cash policy, and payments should only be made through official LASHMA channels.
Established under the Lagos State Health Scheme in May 2015 and fully operational since 2020, LASHMA continues to expand access to healthcare services for residents across Lagos State.
