Defence Minister Delivers Goodwill Message at Arewa Think Tank Public Lecture in Kaduna

The Honourable Minister of Defence, His Excellency Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, CON, mni, on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, delivered a goodwill message at a one-day public lecture organised by the Arewa Think Tank Group in Kaduna.

The event, held at the historic Arewa House, centred on the theme, “65 Years of Nigeria’s Independence: A Journey So Far with the Renewed Hope Agenda in View.” The lecture provided a platform for national reflection on Nigeria’s progress since independence and its future direction under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

In his remarks, the Minister of Defence commended the organisers for fostering dialogue around national unity, economic growth, and security. He highlighted the need for renewed commitment to nation-building, adding that Nigeria’s development must be anchored on cooperation, peace, and innovation.

The lecture attracted several distinguished personalities, including the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu; former President of the Senate, Senator Pius Anyim Pius; and former Governor of Osun State and elder statesman, Chief Bisi Akande. Also in attendance were political leaders from Northern and Western Nigeria, alongside scholars, youth leaders, and civil society representatives.

The gathering underscored the importance of inter-regional cooperation and policy continuity in achieving the vision of a prosperous and united Nigeria.

The theme of the event, “65 Years of Nigeria’s Independence: A Journey So Far with the Renewed Hope Agenda in View,” resonated strongly with participants who called for sustained national dialogue to consolidate the country’s democratic and developmental gains.
