Kaduna State is once again grappling with a wave of kidnappings, this time affecting the communities of Gidan Waya and Jansauni. Community advocate, Joshua Shuaibu Yakubu, has voiced deep concern following recent interactions with families of the abducted victims.
Describing the meeting with the victims’ families as “deeply troubling,” Yakubu revealed that witnessing the emotional trauma firsthand has strengthened his determination to advocate for the safe return of those taken.
“As we collectively lift them in prayers, trusting God for divine intervention and their speedy rescue, it is equally important to acknowledge the ongoing efforts of security officials,” Yakubu said, highlighting the crucial role of law enforcement in tackling these incidents.
He specifically commended the swift response and continued engagement of local security leadership, praising “the Chief Security Officer of Lere Local Government, Hon. Jafaru Ahmed, and the Chief Security Officer of Kaduna State, Governor Uba Sani, for their swift response and continued engagement with security agencies.”
The advocate called for increased security measures and strengthened leadership to ensure the successful return of all abducted individuals. “Intensified security efforts, renewed strength for leadership, and the safe return of all victims must be our collective priority,” Yakubu added.
Concluding his statement, Yakubu prayed for protection and peace across the state: “May God protect our land, expose the perpetrators, and grant lasting peace to Gidan Waya, Jansauni, and the entire Kaduna State.”
The recent kidnappings underscore the persistent insecurity facing communities in Kaduna, leaving residents anxious and urging authorities to step up preventive measures.
